SBB MOBILITY CLEANCRETE ELEMENTS
Street furniture for the mobility of tomorrow. For the SBB Mobility Sharing Zones in the main stations of Zurich and Basel, 15 Cleancrete elements were planned and produced by Oxara. The elements in Zurich were installed in 2021 and those in Basel at the beginning of 2022. The elements had to fulfil several functions as part of the overall concept of the sharing zone. On the one hand, they provide parking spaces for eBikes and eScooters, and on the other hand, they offer seating options as street furniture.

All elements were prefabricated in the Innovation Park in Dübendorf, where the specific formworks had to be built first. The formwork was then filled with fresh Cleancrete, which was produced by Kibag and transported to site in a conventional concrete mixer.

After two days, the formwork was stripped, and the elements were left to air dry. Finally, the surfaces were processed and assembled, and the elements were ready to be installed at the train stations.
