Material Developer
Bruno Pinto Aranda’s path into sustainable construction began with a background in environmental engineering, which he studied at THM Giessen in Germany. His curiosity for building materials and low-impact structures later led him to ETH Zurich, where he joined the Institute for Building Materials. There, he collaborated with Prof. Robert Flatt and Dr. Ena Lloret Fritschi on Future Tree, a research and construction project exploring ultra-thin concrete formwork. His passion for alternative materials deepened during his thesis on alkali-activated binders as a cement-free solution for digital fabrication. Bruno completed his civil engineering studies at ZHAW Winterthur in 2021 and has been part of the Oxara team since early 2022, where he focuses on developing next-generation, circular building materials.
